Bill: Role of Governor Resolution

Details

Submitted by[?]: Union Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 3688

Description[?]:

This kind of goes along with the Speaker of the Congress resolution. Basically, each state has one governor, so there would be a total of five governors in the Republic of Aloria. Terms would last 3 years (decided after elections and lasts until next election), and the party that wins the province in the election would choose a member of their party to be the governor.

In the last election, the results for the winners for each state were:

Kurmal: Labor
Sildar: Aloria Radical People
Krentori: Labor
Gavonshire: Federalist
Ultran: Union

I want to debate this first. We can all nominate our governors throughout the debate process and then vote on it. Any thoughts?

MessageI want to start out by nominating Congressman Thomas Lambert (U-Ultran) for the governorship. If this bill is approved, he would've only served 1 term in Congress and his governorship would've began on May 3687.

MessageIf a party doesn't give a nominee, or if the party is inactive, the ruling party should appoint one. Labor and ARPP need to appoint their governors.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
