Bill: National Conscience Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Freedom Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 3690
Description[?]:
We call upon this government to take a bold step and to lead the way in guiding the moral compass of our people. Poorer nations can only grow through high levels of aid that is monitored and spent wisely. As I look around Terra I see rich nations offering mediocre solutions to the mammoth task of poverty. Lets see Aloria take a stand, stand up for all people who deserve a chance to flourish, thrive and grow. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Let's be honest about the issues. Most of our world, Terran, is already developed. The Republic of Aloria has a long history of opening diplomatic relations with many people. Our current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vincent Blake, had an ancestor (also named Vincent Blake*) who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and who drafted the Treaty of Cooperation between Aloria and Indrala**, which remains intact to this day. Needless to say, there are still nations which remain hostile to our values. To give aid to them without any benefit at all to our nation, nor our people who are also facing problems of their own, is ludicrous. The Union Party puts the people of this nation first and foremost. While other political movements may seek to enact policies which are the other way around, we will fight for Alorians as long as we are in power. Congressman Yuval Garin (U-Gavonshire) Union Party Whip *OOC: This is true. I was the Republican Party around 3538 and served in a coalition with the Conservative Party. **http://classic.particracy.net/viewtreaty.php?treatyid=2556 |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I feel that the Congressman whilst making an excellent point, has sidestepped the issue. We are seeking the releasing of the purse strings so that Minister Blake may appoint funds to nations truly in need. I am of course fully confident that he and his ministry will not be sending finances off to depots and private equity funds so of course safeguards must be in place. However those details can be ironed out in the implementation phase - this act simply asks for a mandate to release more funds. Mrs. Eleanor Garsdale, Leader LFP |

Message | Mr. Speaker, If Mrs. Garsdale truly wishes to provide more funds for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this is the wrong place and the wrong thing to be doing. She should be in contact with NAA Finance Minister, Bartholomeo quasemea, who had direct control to propose income tax brackets and budgets. Congressman Yuval Garin (U-Gavonshire) Union Party Whip |
