Message | Mr. Speaker, Following an LFP working party focusing on the issue of Energy pricing and Energy poverty in the elderly, we are proud to put forward this bill to reclaim this most vital asset of national importance away from the hands of privateers and back into the hands of the people. We are not a party in favour of widespread nationalisation across the board - however we feel that the economy and indeed the people will benefit from nationalised energy. Speaking to one of my constituents in Ultran she summed up the situation in a simplistic yet poignant way... "These companies keep hiking their prices and the so called regulations do not seem to be holding them back. Pretty soon I will not be able to afford to heat my home in the winter, I am at my wits end with it all." I seek the support of the members of this congress to move this bill into law. Thank you. Message | Mr. Speaker, If the rhetoric of the honorable Congresswoman is not enough to indicate her highly socialistic values, then let this bill do the showing. This piece of legislation would be devastating to our economy and to Alorian families. This isn't a bill to help our nation, it is simply an ideological platform to help further the progressive and socialistic agenda of the LFP. Never have I seen such blatant disregard to the economic policies of the free market system. By ridding our nation of enterprise and business, the LFP is sacrificing the cradle of opportunity for millions in our nation. I urge upon all political parties to understand the consequences if this bill passes, and to vote no. Congressman Yuval Garin (U-Gavonshire) Union Party Whip |

Message | Mr. Speaker, This bill is outrageous. It goes completely against our principles and values. We vote no |

Message | Mr Speaker, What the United Conservative party means to say is that it goes against their principles, not necessarily the principles of the whole nation. They should not forget that the LFP received over 8 million votes in the last election, a number not to be taken lightly. We were elected on a promise to take legislative measures to ensure the security and long term stability of our economy - one of those key areas being energy. I would kindly request the Prime Minister, or in fact any Minister of any department for that matter, to do their job and begin bringing a legislative agenda to this congress. They are remarkably silent in their ministerial positions and it is causing a stir in the nation. Congresswoman Ashleigh Shannon (LFP - Ultran) |

Message | OOC: LFP, what all can a minister do? Most of them have no power and the prime minister really doesn't have a whole lot of power. Besides, what legislative agenda could we bring? |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I defer to my statement on the Living Wage Act 3691. The LFP believes that churning out laws, regardless if they help or hurt our nation, is ultimately a good thing. This process is a deliberate one, and I will repeat what I have said yesterday on the chamber floor. Most of the services and issues are dealt by local governments, which most Alorians favor. The federal government goes through the formalities of governance, passes resolutions, and extensively debates important, national issues. Congresswoman Cathy Adeline (U-Kurmal) Union Party Leader |
