Message | Mr. Speaker, How dare the LFP disgrace our nation like this. Many proud men and women have fought and died I preserve our nation. The flag is a symbol of this sacrifice. Our flag is what makes our nation unique. I call for all parties that are true patriots to vote NO! |
Date | 20:12:23, July 09, 2014 CET | From | Union Party | To | Debating the Right to Protest Act 3693 |
Message | Mr. Speaker, I respect the LFP and their underlying intentions... oh wait, it appears that Article 2 has none. There is absolutely no reason to allow flag burning than to express one's true feelings about this nation. The Union Party cannot allow our national symbol to be burned out of spite. As for Article 1, I believe that the government should have a minimum role in the economy. Congressman Dr. Dillan Goyen (U-Ultran) Union Study Committee Chairman |
Date | 22:16:42, July 09, 2014 CET | From | Social Liberal Party | To | Debating the Right to Protest Act 3693 |
Message | We support both articles. We vote YES. In addition, Social Liberal Party reminds colleagues that "flags" and other "patriotic" deemed 'symbols' are nothing more, but objects that shouldn't be 'worshiped' (figure of speech) unquestionably. Critical thinking requires freedom from all those idols, and, since critical thinking is of highest priority for true Freedom, no idols ought to be deemed worthy of worshiping, especially forced via law. |

Message | OOC: Out of curiosity, are you the same user as LFP? You seem suspicious. |
Date | 12:54:50, July 11, 2014 CET | From | Liberal Freedom Party | To | Debating the Right to Protest Act 3693 |
Message | OOC: Obviously the Union party had a guilty concience accusing having two accounts - given that they have been removed from the game answers all of our questions Madame Speaker, We have nothing to fear from symbolism. The burning of a flag - whilst repugnant in my eyes - is hateful but can we really legislate against it? Are we not giving radicals more reason to burn flags by condemning it? Shoudl we not make this a non issue by making it irrelevant? Madame Speaker I ask you to move this bill to vote. Congresswoman Anne Blenheim, LFP Leader |

Message | We would have supported Article 1 but Article 2 would serve no good. National symbols must be respected as they represent the collective spirit of the nation.. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
