Bill: Civilian Policing Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Libermuns Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 3721
Description[?]:
We think it is no longer appropriate for the military to deal with civilians in situations of arrest. We are looking to implement a police force that is separate and trained solely for our civilian matters. We would also like to state that there are two possibilities in our minds for this bill's Article 1: *civilian police force is in place and the military may be called in to help in serious emergencies. *civilian police force is in place and the military is not allowed to play any part in it. In truth, there is a lot to this bill that we wish to debate and are willing to negotiate on. So, please, give us your opinions on these articles. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, we hope the Minister of Internal Affairs has a plan ready as a guidance for such a transformation. We also believe it is much cheaper to hire specialised groups than to train and maintain aprofessional policeforce of our own... Clothilde Dewitte LNC spokeswoman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We currently have a subcontracted private security management run through the military. We think that creating a specialized branch of military that will break off in 5 to 10 years will be a good foundation on which to start up. As for the companies currently running things, we do not wish to disband them nor take away their positions. We merely wish to make policing a government job. We will offer any of our subcontracted firms the chance to take part in this specialized transitional military branch, and work towards fully integrating our current set up of policing departments. Our main goal is standardization that prioritizes the safety of our citizens. This should not create unnecessary costs, as we already foot the bill on national policing. We just wish to have a say in it's code of conduct in relation to civilians. This is all mostly paperwork, and possibly a bit of further training depending on the company. A uniform National Police Force will allow us to provide a more consistent form of protection and enforcement in this Great country. Local governments can employ similar techniques with the current law, opting to partner and integrate with current firms, or by setting up their own departments that they find will function well to create peace and order. Would you like us to change the description of the bill to show this? ~ Lillian Barker Ministry of Internal Affairs |
