Bill: Cabinet Proposal of November 2164

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2165

Description[?]:

The AAS proposes a new Cabinet structure:

The Anarch Anakrousite Shatter to hold seats in: Trade and Industry; Finance; Infrastructure and Transport; Health and Social Services.

Anarch Ankrousite also to maintain control of Head of Government office.

The Progressive Party to hold seats in: Food and Agriculture; Environment and Tourism; Internal Affairs; Justice; Education and Culture.

Progressive Social Strength to hold seats in: Science and Technology; Foreign Affairs; Defence.

The seats are thus divided in proportion 5:5:3 between AAS:Progressive:PSS - which seems like a fair division considering AAS and Progressive Party had almost exactly the same number of seats at the election, which is almost half of ALL seats available.

Progressive Social Strength are being included for their work in the Treaty arrangements with Valruzia, which necessitate (ideally) that the PSS can claim control of Defence and oreign Affairs offices.

It is assumed that our friends in the Right Wing Liberals Party, the Pragmatic Capitalists Party, the Centrist Democratic Humanists, the Jefferson Libertarian Party and The Strength Party will form a 'Shadow Cabinet' for this term.

MessageThe PSS would relinquish claims to the positions of defence and Science and technology happily in order to include other parties in the cabinet. Foriegn affairs is all we ask in order to continue defence negotiations. We thank the AAS for the chance to continue to serve in the cabinet, however if the positions were reversed we would have no hesitation 'minimising' the AAS role in such proposition. We hope this allows the AAS latitude to form a more 'inclusive' proposition.

MessageThe JLP has no objections. We hopefully will have more input after the next election.

We thank the PSS for their willingness to relinquish the positions, but we appreciate their leadership and (most of the time) positions on legislation in these areas.

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that.
