Bill: Socialist Coalition - 3723

Details

Submitted by[?]: Great National Republican Guard

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3724

Description[?]:

The proposed cabinet is a strong Socialist cabinet to guarantee stability and peace in Lodamun. If approved, it will be Gordon Fertig's last term as President. Gordon Fertig may resign before the end of the Presidium's legislative term and consider supporting an SLP candidate for Presidency if things become stable soon enough.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We would support the President being from the SLP, but this administration may have to do things which are unconventional. We believe that Gordon Fertig can handle the criticism and the international backlash better than the SLP. We don't want to ruin the reputation of a new party. The GNRG, especially a Fertig, can handle criticism and backlash well.

MessageMr. Speaker,

we are currently in a huge crisis, nationally and internationally. We believe that Mr. Fertig is about the only choice we have if we want to get out of this mess and defend ourselves internationally.
Lodamun needs firm leadership at this moment.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I know that the idea of me becoming President will send a shudder up the spine of every right-thinking Lodamese citizen. Fortunately, my main concern is the Left-thinking citizens. This is a Leftist coalition.

We resent the dictatorial ways of Mr. Gordon Fertig and ask for his immediate resignation from the GNRG. As his views represent an extremist element and an over reactionary way which is tearing this nation apart limb by limb. We will have a meeting held in kregon province to consider our next act of motion against Mr. Fertig. If he is made president we will oppose him till his last day in office.

As we have discussed before, now off the record, we will be voting however majority votes. I will wait for the RR to show their judgement before showing our deliberation. Let it be known that i, Rowan Argall, are more than happy to step away if that is what is asked.

even if RftR opposes to this proposal, a majority still supports.
We are jeopardising the future of Lodamun with every day we have no new government.

We must oppose this cabinet proposal. If it is put through our party paramilitary wing is willing to take up arms against Mr. Fertig.

We hold kregon province and this will become a liability to Mr. Fertig if he is elected. We stand firm to our words. We will not support a coup de etat

MessageMr. Speaker,

The LDP got less than 25% of the votes in Kregon. They do not have that many supporters there. They do not "hold" Kregon. Their civilian politicians are responsible for Kregon, but that is different.

If this bill is passed, the paramilitaries supporting the government would outnumber the paramilitaries supporting the LDP by almost 3-1. We should also consider that the Karavs are pro-GNRG, and they have a lot of money and influence. They reside in Kregon, and the government's main military bases are in Kregon. LDP paramilitaries wouldn't realistically stand a chance. GNRG paramilitaries alone, nationwide, already outnumber the LDP's by more than 2-1.

This isn't a coup. This is allowed by Lodamun's constitution. Any cabinet proposal with 300 or more supporting MPs is legitimate. We want to know why the LDP considers this to be a coup. If anything, it is the LDP that is threatening to stage a military coup against what would be a legitimate government if this bill is passed. Tell Phillipa Corazona to sit down and shut up, Mr. Speaker. If 300 or more MPs vote in favour of this bill, it will be a legitimate government compared to a military government installed by a party that received less than 12% of the votes nationwide.

MessageMr. Speaker,

we find ourselves in a situation where we still do not have an agreement on a new Cabinet and elections were half a year ago. Seems to us that the President isn't that eager to give up his position as he makes us believe he is.
Eventhough SLP is the largest fraction, we are beginning to doubt if we even want a coalition with them at all.
Apparently SLP fancies committing political suicide.

MessageMr Speaker.

We certainly received popular support and more votes than the GNRG got in kregon and we run this province. We wish to inform the GNRG that they haven't run this province since around 7311. Many years ago. Are those are just plain old facts. Now getting down to legit business. This country is being bashed by the international community. For in particular the actions off the GNRG and its national conservative cohorts. It is not logical to put an extremist group into power when countries criticise it. War is what we will see. Numerous leaders of terra have made contact with me already offering huge financial resources worth millions and millions of currency as well as arms. I I have not replied to these leaders. However if this is the path our country is taking them I suppose our paramilitaries must arm and fund itself? Having no support the extremist governments.

Mr. Fertig must not be put in power. We must concentrate on stopping the growth of Anti lodamun condemnation and sanctions and possible blockades and worse invasion.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The LDP doesn't "run" the province.

1) The combined votes of the parties in this proposal are almost 3 times the votes that the LDP got.
2) An armed conflict in Kregon wouldn't be limited to Kregon. We have paramilitaries in other provinces that would respond.
3) If the LDP's paramilitaries took up arms against the government, they would be fighting against our national reserves as well, not just GNRG paramilitaries. The strength of the LDP's paramilitaries is nowhere near the strength of the national reserves.

We advise mr Fertig that this flip of the coin might flio in the opposite direction to what the GNRG would like. We would be holding these ministries and execute the laws accordingly. We advise the GNRG to work with everyone on this and not to cause unnecessary injury or killing amongst our people.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The LDP is the party that threatened to take up arms against the government if they didn't approve of the President. The GNRG made no such threat. It is the LDP who should work with everyone and avoid causing unnecessary injury or killing among our people.

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play.
