Bill: Cabinet Proposal of March 3724
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Libermuns Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 3724
Description[?]:
Proposing a Cabinet The SLP has been accused of seizing government control. We have full control of cabinet, but only 27% of the vote. We are proposing a cabinet where the SLP has 31% of the positions available. If this is not considered acceptable, then we will continue sitting in power, as the other 73% of the vote obviously does not care as much about the SLP's control as we have been led to believe. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We have given this proposal careful thought. Whilst we are hopeful that the SLP and the LDP have some good intentions in wanting to distance themselves from the GNRG, we cannot forget the recent history. Over the last year or two, the SLP's President Argall has called for Hosians to be executed, and the LDP has voted to pass the notorious "Street Cleaning" Bill authorising the police and army to shoot Hosians in the street. It would therefore be difficult for us to support the minority government proposed here. However, if the SLP and LDP would provide assurances to us about bringing about an improvement in the status of Hosians in Lodamun, then we would consider changing our mind. Message | Mr. Speaker, The parties in this proposal together have less than 38% of the seats in the Presidum. It wouldn't be wise to elect yet another minority government. -- Gordon Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |

Message | Mr. Speaker. We are concerned about the monarchist agenda. And I would like to remind everyone that the LDP has changed leadership. Zach Valentinn has gone onto pursuing business career. We remind the CMA to read our party description and this is basically what we stand for. Phillipa Corazona LDP Leader and National Spokesperson LDP Leader and National Spokesperson |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Having received private reassurances from the SLP and the LDP, we have decided to support the government proposed here. We do so in the hope and in the belief that it will take urgent action to liberalise Lodamun's oppressive laws and improve the status of Hosians. Message | Mr Speaker. I know its bad to say "I think" as a leader. But i hope this government proposed will get Lodamun out of this mess. Diplomatically and financially etc etc. Phillipa Corazona LDP Leader and National Spokesperson |

Message | Mr. Speaker, This government will not get Lodamun out of the mess without weakening the state and giving in to Hosian interests. The GNRG had offered to take charge of the government so that we could take responsibility for all the harsh policies, and so that the international backlash would be directed to us, not the entire nation. We know how to handle criticism from the international community, and the SLP clearly doesn't. It is liberalisation that led to the diplomatic mess, and it is justice reform that led to our financial messes. Everything was fine until the unnecessary liberalisation. The SLP shouldn't continue to flip-flop around, and the LDP shouldn't look to bend over to the international community. Why is it that this mess is only recent, at the same time as our liberalisation? Why do we think that liberalisation will help to clean up the mess? What we need is a strong President who takes responsibility for everything, and a firm government that doesn't back down after every minor comment made in the international scene. We should have the international community begging us to do what they want us to do, not dictating what we do. -- Nicholas Yenven, GNRG Spokesman on Foreign Affairs |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The Honourable Gentleman from the GNRG is living in a world of his own if he seriously imagines our nation can reverse the tide of international condemnation by being more bullish and extremist than it is already. We will not be able to solve our domestic or diplomatic problems until we halt the persecution of Lodamese Hosians in their own country Anton Rietveld Chairman of the Conservative Monarchist Alliance |

Message | Mr. Speaker. This propaganda will not stand. We as the LDP do not bend for any international persons. We humbly listen to them. Hear what thwy have to say and act accordingly. We may just get amazing trade deals out of this enriching the populace instead of international sanctions against us and then war! Phillipa Corazona LDP Leader and National Spokesperson |

Message | Mr. Speaker, we're reliving the past. Such a government formed the basis of the fall of our nation. Paul Murphy-Spaak LNC chairman |

Random quote: "We must show that liberty is not merely one particular value but that it is the source and condition of most moral values. What a free society offers to the individual is much more than what he would be able to do if only he were free. We can therefore not fully appreciate the value of freedom until we know how a society of free men as a whole differs from one in which unfreedom prevails." - Friedrich August Hayek |
