Description[?]:
OOC: see http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5872#p76492 IC: A small number of young Zardic Lodamese have gone off to fight for Zardugal in the Majatran War, where they are putting themselves at considerable risk and traumatising their families with worry. Lodamun's policy of allowing people to leave Lodamun freely without any checks whatsoever is not appropriate for the modern Terra in which we live. We are arguably not living up to our international moral obligations by failing to put at least some checks in place. Sergio Arechavaleta Foreign Affairs spokesman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, we never had these problems before. And we don't think that such a security check is necessary. If these people wish to fight for their country, that's their choice. But they are not allowed to do so in name of Lodamun. These people should be stripped from their Lodamese citizenship. Clothilde Dewitte LNC spokesman |

Message | Mr. Speaker. This is not our concern . And to make all Lodamun suffer for some war not involving Lodamun. Uncalled for. Gregory Corazona Foreign Affairs Minister |
Date | 18:30:47, September 15, 2014 CET | From | Conservative Monarchist Alliance | To | Debating the Overseas Travel Act |
Message | Mr. Speaker, The Minister for Foreign Affairs ought to take into consideration that when Lodamese citizens use Lodamun to raise funds, weaponry, equipment and volunteers for foreign wars, they put at risk Lodamun's relations with the rest of Terra. Has he considered, for example, how Vanuku might feel about the fact that volunteers from Lodamun are going to Majatra to fight them, and yet our government is doing absolutely nothing about it? Message | Mr. Speaker. We would like to call the minister of defence. To give us a better understanding as to whats going on? And if this is a big threat to lodamuns national security. Gregory Corazona LDP Leader and National Spokesperson |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We can only hope the Minister of Defence is better informed than the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Sergio Arechavaleta Foreign Affairs spokesman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Mr. Corazona, I similarly don't see the problem at hand. And it seems a poor reason to tighten up border security. Lodamun has always let people who wish to leave the country leave the country. The war being fought is outside of Lodamun and of no consequence to us. Arwen O'Barra Minister of Defence |
Date | 18:40:05, September 17, 2014 CET | From | Conservative Monarchist Alliance | To | Debating the Overseas Travel Act |
Message | Mr. Speaker, I wonder whether Arwen O'Barra, Gordon Fertig, Clothilde Dewitte and Gregory Corazona would feel the same way if it was *their* children who going off to fight in a dangerous war. The Lodamese state has a moral responsibility for the welfare of its young and impressionable citizens, but is neglecting that responsibility by making it so easy for them to go off to fight in conflict zones. Message | "who going off" = "who were going off" |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The way this bill is presented isn't in the interest of our citizens. It mentions "living up to our international" obligations. We have no obligations to the international community. This is about the international community, not Lodamun. Don't suddenly pretend that this is about protecting Lodamese citizens. For Sergio Arechavaleta to imply that he cares about "the welfare of its young and impressionable citizens" is hypocritical. Our party had censored international media content for political purposes. I blame the liberalisation of the media for the brainwashing of Lodamese citizens by foreign media. We were protecting our citizens with our media laws, but the CMA was among the parties which opposed those laws. I also assure the Presidium that no member of the Fertig family currently likes Zardugal, and would never consider leaving the Great Democratic Republic to fight for Zardic interests. -- Gordon Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We find it most peculiar that the GNRG are perfectly happy with teenagers leaving the country to fight in conflicts we are supposed to be neutral on, and yet is adamant that even our most mature and educated adults should not be trusted to read a newspaper that has not been subjected to heavy censorship.
