MessageMr. Speaker,

Unless we allow in observers to monitor and record the civil rights improvements we have been trying to implement, then it will be difficult to persuade the wider world to drop its economic boycott of Lodamun.

MessageMr Speaker.

Valruzia has approached me through their foreign minister. To be observers. My view is I support this I have recieved detailed report on why they would like to act on this . Valruzia has been monitoring Lodamun and they understand our concerns and interests. And I must state regarding foreign policy we are very similar. We would like Valruzia to lead in this regard.

I must add that this does not mean Lodamun is weak. This is just a step that all nations under the circumstances would take. We will not allow our nation to become weak and will push for Lodamun to be the number one Republic in the terra.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We have some concerns about Valruzia because they have some very anti-religious laws, and recently they expelled Lodamese Hosians for so-called "proselytism" (OOC: See http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1977&p=76859#p76859 ). Nevertheless, we recognise Valruzia as a friend of Lodamun, and we welcome their offer to send observers. It is to be hoped, though, that observers will be welcomed from other nations as well.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I do not support bowing to the standards of foreigners. We are Lodamun. We set our own standards. The international community doesn't care about Lodamun's civil rights. We had harsher laws for almost 200 years, and the international community didn't do much about it until the GNRG lost power. The GNRG was bold, unlike the SLP and other parties in Lodamun. We are not condemning these parties, but they made grave mistakes which are responsible for this crisis. We forgive them for the mistakes.

A few countries cut ties with Lodamun because of a cold war with Solentia, but Solentia lost because more countries took Lodamun's side. Our position on Hosians was never hidden, but we ensured that our media reported responsibly instead of painting the government as some evil entity. We also made it clear that we wouldn't bow down to sanctions, so foreign governments saw them as pointless. When they saw a more liberal government, they saw a way to pressure Lodamun.

The Valruzian government sees some of the problems that we have; they understand that these animals don't want to obey law and simply want to usurp power to force their doctrines on everyone else. We made it illegal to be Hosian in Lodamun. This wasn't a country for Hosians. We were expelling all Hosians, just like Valruzia wants to expel some of their Hosians now. Hosianism is a disease, and democratic governments of the world have a responsibility to their constituents to contain and eradicate the disease.

MessageWe believe the presence of foreign observers will inhibit the transition, not help it.
If foreign observers come to Lodamun, in name of "monitoring the transition towards establishing a more tolerant society", people would start to see religious tolerance as foreign idea, and as a result, talking about religious tolerance will become difficult and sensitive.
We should get rid of foreign observers. Lodamun can and should its own affairs.

MessageMr Speaker,

We don't think that national observers would help our Nation. It is up to us to make our own decisions and if the world doesn't agree, then it's their problem.
