Date | 16:32:24, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | Oops: I thought this was the one about sodomites in the armed forces. We can't have the NANNY STATE interfering in the day to day running of His Imperial Majesty's Armed Forces: leave it to the Chiefs of Staff! |
Date | 16:37:08, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Luthori Green Party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | You want to invade Dundorf (and Ikradon), then we need all the soldiers that want to serve in the military. We can't be picky. |
Date | 16:50:54, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | Yes we can! Queers and women will be detrimental to our combat effectiveness: it's not about numbers (if you were a soldier in the British Army you'd know that)! |
Date | 16:53:36, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Luthori Green Party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | Funny that, Australia allows homosexuals and women into the armed forces, and doesn't seem to be affected. |
Date | 16:56:51, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | You missed my point. Australia also small but professional and effective armed forces, not just masses of jar heads. |
Date | 17:02:14, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Luthori Green Party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | Ok, get the point. But should we assume that the Luthori Armed Forces would behave in the same way as the British Armed Forces. Considering that for most of its history, Luthori allowed homosexuals to have equal rights to heterosexuals, wouldn't they be used to them and thus able to serve with them in the military? |
Date | 17:03:42, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | No: this is a Christian Empire and homosexuality is wholly incompatible with our identity. |
Date | 17:09:57, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Luthori Green Party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | Modern Luthori is 130 years old. Christian Empire is 16 years old. So that is 114 years of the Commonwealth/Imperial Commonwealth. |
Date | 17:11:21, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Luthori Green Party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | If we assume that the average lifespan in Luthori is 80-85, then most Luthorians will remember a time before the Christian Empire. |
Date | 18:34:56, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | But what about the Imperial Commonwealth? That was also anti-sodomist (and also my brainchild!) |
Date | 18:44:53, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Luthori Green Party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | Commonwealth of Luthori: 2035-2111 (76 years) Imperial Commonwealth of Luthori: 2111-2149 (38 years) Holy Luthori Empire: 2149-present (16 years) Therefore we had 76 years as equal rights and 54 years as anti-homosexual. |
Date | 18:47:30, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | IRL most serving military personnel are under 40. Plus we have quite a low life expectancy in Luthori. |
Date | 18:48:54, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Luthori Green Party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | Really, low life expectancy? Is this RP or is it mentioned on a specific page? |
Date | 18:50:41, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | It's based on the age distribution graphs of each Kingdom. Unlike the UK which has an ageing population and thus a looming pensions crisis, our graphs are very bottom heavy. |
Date | 19:06:39, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Luthori Green Party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | The graphs don't show a dramatic decrease between age groups, so it is unlikely that we have a low life expectancy. |
Date | 19:09:15, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | Well, it still means there aren't many old people, and there are no queers, since we've been burning them for half a century, so my point stands. |
Date | 19:22:15, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Seosavists Republican party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | You can't tell with just that graph because less people where probably born 70-75 years ago meaning they would be a smaller group to start with. |
Date | 19:26:53, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Luthori Green Party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | And they had subsidised contraceptives back then. |
Date | 15:16:28, January 04, 2006 CET | From | Seosavists Republican party | To | Debating the End discrimination in the military. |
Message | abortion for those 5 years too. Of course it doesn't have any effect yet and didn't back then so you can't take that into account. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
Random quote: "He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from opposition; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself." - Thomas Paine |
