Message | Mr Speaker -- While we appreciate the LSP's desire to give people the choice to donate or not to donate, the repercussions of this change in the law would have real, human consequences that we feel we cannot and should not ignore. This bill will seriously hinder our ability to help those in need; in other countries that rely solely on the good will of its citizens to provide organs for transplant, there is serious shortage and many people die needlessly. The way the law is now will help Rutania maintain its organ donor program fully and efficiently. For the good of all the people in need of livers, kidneys, hearts, lungs and corneas, I urge you to keep the law as it currently stands. -- TSTG |
