Bill: Gun Liberation Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Alorian Communist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2054

Description[?]:

Allow the people of Aloria to possess firearms! In this way, we can use our militia for defensive purposes. Militias (groups of armed civilians) are one of the biggest deterrents in the world - Hitler was never stupid enough to invade Switzerland as he knew the casualties inflicted by the Swiss militia would be terrible.

Not only will the militia defend us from foreign invaders, it can protect from threats inside our country. Imagine if some Nazi Party attempts a coup - the democratic resistance movements will bring this regime to its knees!

Furthermore, crime rates will go down. Burglary rates would drop, after all who would break into a house when you know there is a man with a gun inside? The police cannot be trusted to defend the average citizen for the simple reason most crimes are spur of the moment things - the police are simply unable to respond quick enough. Therefore we must trust the citizens of Aloria with the right and responsibility to bear arms.

Message'Furthermore, crime rates will go down. Burglary rates would drop' actually crimes would go up as people are not going to walk around like in the wild west with their guns out and burglary would go down but deaths would increase and can you really trust any with a gun? no you can not.

MessageThe average person in Aloria cant rely on the police to help them! Police solve crimes, they dont prevent them. The people must be trusted to look after themselves. Besides, criminals can acquire guns anyway and at least if guns are legal they can be traced.

MessageEven, ACLU says that Founding fathers meant by right to own the gun not the individual owning the gun, but the common forces of the country, such as police today for example.
