Bill: No hostile intentions towards Vanuku
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Monarchist Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 3747
Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, Following some unfortunate statements by certain politicians, we believe it would help to defuse the tensions between Lodamun and Vanuku if the Presidium would consent to pass the following motion: "In the name of the representatives of the people of Lodamun, the Presidium declares that it has no hostile intentions towards Vanuku. Rather, we hope for peaceful and constructive relations between our countries, and we hope a solution can be found to the Paul Murphy-Spaak situation which will be mutually acceptable to both of our governments." This Bill also rescinds the 'Arrest of Vanukians Bill', which is creating unnecessary tension with Vanuku's government and people (see http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=419735 ). Message | Mr. Speaker. The weakness of the CMA leadership alarms and disgusts me. And this discussion about monarchy. We will not take Lodamun backwards. Forwards for development and Justice. Matteo Powers Minister of Internal Affairs Director of the LSS |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We would have supported this if it did not attempt to rescind the 'Arrest of Vanukians Bill' that the democratically-elected representatives had passed with good intentions. The government of he Great Democratic Republic had no hostile intentions towards Vanuku. The government simply made a justified response to Vanuku's hostile intentions towards us. -- Gordon Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG, Opposition Leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We can hardly persuade the Vanukuese government that we have no hostile intentions towards them if we routinely arrest their citizens. Anton Rietveld Chairman of the Conservative Monarchist Alliance |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Likewise, we can hardly be persuaded that Vanuku has no hostile intentions towards us when they have kept Paul Murphy-Spaak for such a long time. -- Gordon Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG, Opposition Leader |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
Random quote: "If democracy is ever to be threatened, it will not be by revolutionary groups burning government offices and occupying the broadcasting and newspaper offices of the world. It will come from disenchantment, cynicism and despair caused by the realization that the New World Order means we are all to be managed and not represented." - Tony Benn |
