Bill: Rundfunkgesetz, 3745

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hosianisch-Demokratisches Verbund

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3746

Description[?]:

Herr Präsident,

As we promised in our manifesto, we believe that a public broadcasting system for the education and information of our people - our broadcasting system can do so much more than making a profit for shareholders. We therefore propose a return to the pluralistic broadcasting system that has worked so well in the past, sponsoring non-profit cooperatives as well as a state news broadcaster for totally independent coverage.

Maximilian Goddestreu, Bürggraf Goddestreu zu Alt-Kien MdR (HDV - Kien Altstadt)
HDV Klubobmann

MessageHerr Präsident,

Could the FKP please explain its u-turn? Its position taken now contrasts sharply with the position it held on this issue 10 years ago when we first brought this to the House.

MessageGicho-sama,

the proposed policy would establish a free-for-all policy of subsidization that goes beyond our willingness to provide state funding for Independent Information. We would regard it as preferable to re-establish the Hulsterreichische Rundfunk (HRF) as a national TV Station with sub-channels for each Crownland.

MessageHerr Präsident,

The Minister should not be absurd. Of course there will be thresholds for subsidies to these cooperatives, such as a minimum number of members required. Our nation is a land of two peoples, united and free, and its society is equally diverse. Why should that not be reflected in our broadcasting system?

MessageHerr Präsident,

the HRF has always taken care of the diverse makeup of society through its various regional sub-channels, including the possibility of civic participation in the production of its various cultural and local community-focused programs. We do not regard this as necessarily inferior to a multitude of small channels, whose capacities would be very limited.
