Bill: "No, you soldiers cannot stay here! We donīt care if Malivia is in war!"

Details

Submitted by[?]: Peoples Front of Malivia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2167

Description[?]:

In case of war, the United Federation of Malivia might have to seize property, to keep Malivia safe!

Therefore we should have the same rules in all the provinces, or else we will not be able to protect our country. If one province is lost, we are all lost!

This is for the need of our people, and in case of war only!

MessageProposed: The government may seize private property for vital government works. #1 thats isn't in time of war, thats like We need a park Okay lets take that Flower Shoppee thats been there making good money for 100 years down!
No Locals will decide what is best for their Streets, homes, and other wise they vote their town officals in for what they want also.

MessageNo because lets compare this to some real life senarios. In some countries, especially ones that are/were communist or dictatorships that would seize land from private citizens for certain things.

To tell the truth I think its best what we keep it now but personally I don't like the options the game currently has for this and how they are worded.

MessageThe PFM agrees that the game is lacking in options, and not only in this case, however we do feel that we might get in serious problems, if we cannot control this matter. Some provinces most likely already have agreed on the proposed matter, and therefore they can seize, but we canīt. Whoīs running this country? Are we not united?

MessageThe local governments help run this country too. Not to mention we have higher courts that people can still challenge the eminent domain ruling in.

MessageThere's a serious issue of precedent here. We cannot allow the government to take private property. Otherwise, our other rights will surely follow.

MessageIn addition, this is an issue best left to local governments. They are most accountable to the people who are immediately affected by this proposal.

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election.
