Bill: Snap Elections - 3778

Details

Submitted by[?]: Great National Republican Guard

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: October 3778

Description[?]:

There are new voices constantly demanding to be heard. It is evident that there are views that are not yet represented in the Presidium. Elections should be held to give these MPs a chance to enter the Presidium through Democracy.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I know your fear of losing more seats because the left parties will be taking your votes and if we hold one now less people will know of the other parties and more likely to vote for you and losing seats will likely cost your coalition government.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Why is the LIP worried that I may lose seats? Why would they vote against, in fear of me losing seats? Since the LIP is voting against, it is obvious that they are the ones fearing something. The NAP is the revival of an old party, and the CRP has already participated in an election. The only entirely new party is the DLP.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I want to see the parties be able to be seen by more people and to take more of you votes in the general election.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I don't see any reliable reason to hold early election at this time.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Why vote down a early election proposal and vote for enough?

It is clear the GNRC has some machinations planned.

MessageMr. Speaker,

After inspecting the legalisation currently set to pass if the President's party continues to abstain on nearly all new bills, it is clear why the GNRC is eager to prematurely end the session of the Presidium.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We didn't vote down a simple "early election proposal" - we voted down a "Motion of No Confidence" which implied that the government would be dissolved, not the Presidium. This bill is to rearrange the Presidium, not the government. The LIP doesn't know the difference.

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context.
