Message | Mr. Speaker, Does the LIP ever give a reason for their proposals? This old and stale debate has taken place too many times. It is obvious that this system won't work for Lodamun. This will need 400 MPs to support it. The LIP can be assured that I will not support this bill, and I hope that the LNC will not support it either. -- Andre Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |

Message | Mr. Speaker, as a democratic party we have to object. Why should only the largest fraction have the right to propose a cabinet? Mark Vanmarcke LNC spokesman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, we understand that some people would like to have the structure changed. Let's think a moment. Under the current circumstances, where LIP has a small majority, it would not be unthinkable that another party would have had the Presidential seat. Let's say that, if the proposed system would have been adapted, LNC would have won the elections for President and LIP would have had the majority in the Presidium, as they do now. Would LIP have formed a government with only their own politicians in Cabinet? I believe that under such circumstances, the formation of a government would have been far off. Hagar Franken LNC chairman |
