Message | Mr Speaker, It is for the people themselves to choose how they wish to organize their own forms of governance at the local level. The Federal Government has no business influencing or otherwise dictating forms of local governance. Some areas may wish to have elected mayors, some areas may wish to have local city councils and still others may wish to have a hybrid of the two systems. We have no business telling them how to organize. Donald Dubane Alliance Congressional Leader |
