Message | 42 months has the very nice property (of the options on this issue, it's the only one which does) of setting our elections to be the same day and time every OOC week, a considerable convenience. :( Sadly, during the past two months, Particracy has been repeatedly going offline (it has happened four times) for various lengths of time, and has thereby messed with this nice scheduling. :( Hopefully these outages won't happen again. ... and if it actually had been an IC matter of "seeing as the pace of change is relatively slow at current", then we would be proposing 72 months, the maximum allowed. ;) But, it isn't, at least for us. Instead, it's a matter of that OOC convenience of having the elections on the same day and time, which 42 months is unique in arranging. (Particracy does not permit this to be set to 84 months nor to 21 months, both of which would have shared this convenience.) |

Message | We would too rather 36 months so it is 3 years exactly. |

Message | OOC: Yeah, but as you said, the Particracy servers mysteriously go down every once in a while and for extended periods of time. We may have indicated 42 months but in reality, the inactivity of the server extends it to perhaps 80 months or above. I would have opted for 42 months for it's consistency, but this convenience has been taken away from the downtimes the server experiences. |
