| The National Republicanism Party propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Republic of Telamon. The NRP believes in balanced budgets, not surpluses. If extra revenue is taken in by the government, our response will either to factor it into a tax cut or use it to supplement existing spending. In this case, we have judged that our Foreign Affairs and our Ministry of Defense funding levels were too low and so have these steps to boost them. The additional defense funding will go towards modernizing and upgrading existing military equipment and laying the groundwork for the new National Fleet Initiative, a massive expansion of the Navy's capabilities which will require future increased spending. The Foreign Affairs money will go towards promoting Telamonian interests and values abroad. |
