Bill: Salary Decrease of the Public Sector

Details

Submitted by[?]: Free Democratic Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 3809

Description[?]:

"I believe that our salaries should be cut in half or more. Frankly, if the people are to trust us, we need to show we care. We show we care in various ways. Lowering taxes is one way. Giving freedom is another. Staying out of their lives is the primary way to show that we care. Another way is to cut our own salaries. If this passes, I also plead the CNP for a major income tax decrease. Our top income level should have no more than a 30% tax, and right now it is about to go to 50%. Our lower tax brackets have too complex of a system, and it needs simplification. I'm willing to sacrifice most of my salary for the people. Even if a reasonable tax reform isn't passed after this bill, we still want our salaries cut. I will donate 75% of my salary to private charity if it doesn't happen. Fellow parties, realize the importance of this. We would also like to state that most government employees have a large sum of money. All of us know that in order to fund campaigns and do those things we needed to have an established career before we went into politics."

MessageEvery party is diffrent when it comes to personal wealth, for instance most of CNP's senates have a large personal wealth, ot atleast used to. While we at RCS have a policy to never accept private donations to our campains, all campain funds comes from the partys own pockets. Most of RCS's senates were middle class people before they came into politics.

I understand what your point is Mr.Rand and it's an important one. However there are alot of diffrent realities here in the senate, while it's true that we're not senators because of the money we still need to feed our families. We have no private wealth to fall back to.

Message"The CNP is exactly who we are worried about. How do we know that they aren't using the political spotlight to advance their own interests? Perhaps the RCS should consider private donations. That could fix some of their problems."

MessageWe want to serve the people, accepting private donations would leave us woundable for lobbyism and private intressts.
