Bill: Tax Reform - 3810

Details

Submitted by[?]: Great National Republican Guard

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3810

Description[?]:

The current tax plan, implemented by the FJS, lacks consistency. The brackets are different sizes and the percentage for each bracket is disproportional.
The proposed reform to the Income Tax system features even brackets and a consistent interval of tax percentage increase. Each bracket is the same size, with the lower limit and upper limit being 255 LOD apart; tax increases at 1% for each bracket.

Tax is being proposed for essential goods to ensure that citizens don't waste essential goods, buying only what they need so that more supply is available for other citizens.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We feel taxing essential goods like food will put a serious strain on the poor. We recommend taxing the upper income citizens a little more instead. Aside from that we actually arnt opposed to this tax structure.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We are in favour, the government needs the money! The economy is not in the best position, we hope the current finance minister can work through and iron out past mistakes and make it flourish again.

While we find the tax to be steep. We recognize the current state of the economy, and the need for government funding. We have faith in our colleagues in the GNRG.

We really hoped we could find common ground on this. But sadly we cannot support a 15% increase in the tax on food and essential goods. It will hurt the poor disproportionately.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I don't care about the stance of the FJS on this bill. I don't care if we have common ground or not. The bill will pass, even if the FJS votes against it.
