Message | "The Unionists believe that the current balance is right; that we are able to use our tariff policy as a diplomatic tool to ensure good relationships with our Majatran neighbours whilst simultaneously protecting ourselves from needless foreign influence. We fear if no tariffs were in place at all that foreigners would flood the market and dominate Solentian industry." Ala-ad-Din ibn Haroun al-Fulan, Unionist Legislative Lead |
Date | 17:13:56, March 07, 2015 CET | From | Federal Green Party (FGP) | To | Debating the Foreign Policy Reform |
Message | Agreed, the Reform Option does not support tariffs in general but if another nation imposes tariffs on us and we have no tariffs on them we could soon see wide-reaching economic despair here at home. The current policy allows us to have no tariffs with nations that do the same for us. This appears to be reasonable and fair. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
