Bill: Mayoral Appointment Reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Federal Green Party (FGP)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3813

Description[?]:

The purpose of this bill is to further the cause of localization. Cities ought to be able to choose how Mayors are appointed. This bill would change the current law to allow cities to elect the mayor through their municipal council rather than necessarily having a direct election.

The Reform Option believes that this is important for cities. If a city wishes to appoint mayors through an election of the council or some other method then this seems to be an equally meritorious method of appointment. So long as some sort of democratic takes place: Be it a direct election or an election for the municipal council which then elects the Mayor.

Message"Sure. We don't care that much about this issue, but I guess it goes from the second best option to the best option, and that is an improvement."

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that.
