Bill: Localization Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Free Democratic Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3813

Description[?]:

"Hey! Look over there! You are looking at another policy that the national government needs no part in. It may sound insane, but localized governments know the issues and problems that are in their region. They should regulate industrial safety, and the national government shouldn't."

~Ted Johnson, Head Chairman of the LPS

MessageThe Reform Option does not support this bill. Our reasoning for it is because people travel from locality to locality as well as state to state all the time. This makes it very much a national issue.

Assume you are eating in a town with lax health and safety regulations and you get sick when you arrive back at your own town. Let's say it's something that is contagious and spreads across the nation. Health and Safety laws are national issues and should be regulated equally across the country. We don't want people spreading a potentially dangerous contagion because a local or state government doesn't mandate hand washing laws, for example.

Random fact: Don't vote yes on a cabinet coalition that doesn't give you the power that you deserve.
