Bill: Vaccination Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Federal Green Party (FGP)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 3813
Description[?]:
The purpose of this bill is to help prevent a spread of infectious diseases in Solentia. There are a number of highly contagious and dangerous infections out there that have the potential to kill tens of thousands of our people. Especially the youngest and oldest of our population. In order to prevent a catastrophe we propose this bill to promote vaccinations across the country. Note that this bill does still allow people to opt out of vaccinations. While it is important to have as many people vaccinated as possible for these efforts to be effective, we do not want to literally hold down people and force them to get vaccinated. That is why we propose the bill with an opt out option. |

Message | "The only people who are being hurt from infectious deseases in Solentia are people without vaccines. If they want to be morons and not trust science, go ahead. We do not feel that the governemnt should protect people from their own stupidity. If a kids gets a disease because of their parents not allowing them to be vaccinated, the parents shall be punished in some form, but the kid shall not have it forced upon them. What if the government starts injecting people with some nano-virus or something that will control people? With parties like the Unionists voting for this, we always consider that possibility. Then again, the SUN is voting against this, and that's pretty strange. All in all, this bill isn't terrible, but it isn't something we are willing to support unless a compromise is made in another area. It will pass, but it will be to our disliking. Thanks for letting me speak so long without calling early elections or leaving. I love you all." ~William Paul, Secondary Chairman of the LPS |

Message | The trouble is that it does not hurt only those people who choose not to get them. Very young children have not reached an age where they can get vaccinated (especially babies). This means that these children are exposed to these diseases if vaccination rates are not approaching 100%. The more people who are vaccinated the less of a risk to these young children who cannot get specific vaccines yet due to their age. Beyond this, it is not exactly fair to the child of parents who refuse to get them vaccinated. But this bill would still allow them to opt out freely. -Nalph Rader, Head Speaker of the Reform Option Council |
