MessageMr. Speaker,

We believe the tax on essential goods should be lower, or zero, but feel this is a step in the right direction, we support this.

We disagree with the tax being zero, does the FJS have any back up plan to raise the lost revenue? That would be used for vital government works.

MessageMr Speaker,

We would have to analyze the current budget, but probably some combination of higher rates on top personal income, paired with modest budget cuts. We hate to cut programs but a 25 or even 21% tax on food is crippling to the poor, and even quite a burden to the middle-class. Personally I know that if that tax had been in place, back when I was a lieutenant in the Coast Guard that tax would have put a strain even on me, especially if I had had children at the time. I can only imagine how the working poor are surviving.

Unnessesary cuts to the budget is never a good thing. The Lodamese are a hard working people. Not everyone can stay at home and wonder the streets enjoying the trees and grass growing. Sucking the milk out of cattle cause nobody would be working the factories. while the government cuts the national budget. We would be doomed down the path of a failed state.

The Lodamese are a hard-working people, which is why they deserved better then to have their effective food prices go up 15% overnight a few years ago. We commend the 4% reduction but urge you to go further. If zero seems to extreme, maybe return the tax to 10%.

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself.
