Message | Mr. Speaker, The FJS are failing to see the pragmatism behind the recording of DNA. We support recording the DNA of all citizens for two main reasons: 1) In missing persons cases, we have seen the powerful advantages associated with having a DNA database. This had lead to such cases being solved much more quickly, and often with a more positive outcome. 2) The scientific value associated with having a DNA database is unmatched. Several scientific studies at our major universities have made huge scientific breakthroughs with this resource at their disposal. As such, we will not be supporting this measure. Message | There are indeed advantages to recording DNA, however, we don't belive citizens should be forced to surrender their DNA. Let people voluntarily submit their DNA to universitys for research. Convicted criminals will still have their DNA recorded, and of course people working in security sensitive jobs, police officer, airline pilot, military and so forth will still have their DNA on record as a condition of employment. Normal citizens will not. FJS |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
