"We provided a plan to eliminate corporate taxes before, and it didn't pass. It was quite close, though, as the ROS gave us their loving support. We now plan a more moderate proposal. How about we cut it to 5%? Sounds good."

MessageThe problem with cutting it is how will we pay for it? If we can get a corresponding budget cut through or raise taxes elsewhere then we could more realistically discuss passing this.

MessageWhat are you talking about? We cut taxes dramatically for the lowest classes as well as the middle class.

Those who were making 15,000 SOL a year had to pay hundreds in taxes every year. Now they pay 150 SOL a year.

As far as cutting benefits, please give some examples.

MessageCorporate Income Taxes are passed along onto the consumer. Cutting taxes here is not cutting taxes on the rich, it is cutting taxes for all of us. To the greater benefit of the poorest in Solentia. It could mean a significant decrease in the cost of everything you wish to buy.

Imagine going to the store and seeing the price of milk go from 5 SOL to 3 SOL. Overall this means an indirect tax cut for regular Solentians. The rich just raise their prices to pay the Corporate Income Taxes, in fact any executives you ask will tell you just this. They incorporate the costs of taxes into their business structure and pricing policies.

MessageReform Option made the comparison to income tax levels for individuals. Corporations are not individuals and shouldn't be compared with an individual's tax burden. The Unionists are correct, no savings will pass onto the consumer, corporations will horde cash and reward executives with record bonuses for saving their companies some money.

MessageLPS, the tax that highly increases prices is sales tax. We have no sales tax on essential goods. Profit tax is the tax on surplus of corporations, which is paid to shareholders. So you are again proposing tax cut for the rich: middle class works while paying ~30% taxes, but corporate shareholders would only pay 5%. This is why we vote against.

MessageCorporate Shareholders have to pay the same income tax at the end of the year as everyone else. This bill doesn't change this. So if your income at the end of the year is very high you would still have to pay the top individual income tax rate.
