Details

Submitted by[?]: SUN

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 3815

Description[?]:

SEC. I

Article 1 mandates only married couples consisting of one male and one female may have the right to adopt children in the Republic of Solentia.

SEC. II

Article 2 mandates tests to be administered by the Ministry of Health and Social Services to determine eligibility and encourage proper parenting skills to adopted children.

SEC. III

Article 3 amends earlier legislation granting child welfare to low-income families to include large families

1) This will encourage and enable qualified applicants to adopt several children. A large family will be defined as a minimum of Five (5) children or more living in the same household. Families losing a child to adulthood will continue to receive the benefit for Six (6) months to allow them to transition to a new income level.

2) Typical family size in the Republic is small and in many areas, shrinking. This tax benefit may provide a small boost to our native population.

Message"I know that many of the other more 'civilized' parties are going to hate this bill. We don't see it as that bad. No, we aren't going to accept it. Regulation of adoption will just encourage abortion. The thing is that these policies might be good for the children. Article 1 isn't awful because it's proven that heterosexuals give children a more effective development. I wouldn't force this issue on the national government. So we'd leave article 1 to local governments. Article 2 is perfectly left to local governments. Article 3 should be left to local governments. Therefore, this bill had good intentions, but we consider adoption a local issue."

MessageCorrection, amend SEC. III, Subsection 1 to read:

"1) This will encourage and enable qualified applicants to adopt several children. A large family will be defined as a minimum of Five (5) children or more living in the same household. Families [of five children falling below the large family status as a result of a child's death or] losing a child to adulthood will continue to receive the benefit for Six (6) months to allow them to transition to a new income level."

MessageAfter all of these anti-homosexual bills it is apparent that you are not very secure in your own sexuality. This is fine, but don't discriminate on others based off your own insecurity.
