SEC. I Article 1 legalizes the art of dueling which is defined by this legislation as formal combat with weapons between two individuals with witnesses present and predetermined rules. Basic regulations under this act: 1) Weapons are limited to swords and similar bladed-weapons, 2) Satisfaction or an end to a duel will be judged by 'first blood,' even if it is a minor scratch or if it is injury serious enough to render one party unable to continue, 3) Duels will not be fought to cause mortal injury and offenders may be subject to prosecution under local law if discovered, 4) Dueling with any other weapon, including firearms, will not be protected under this act. SEC. II This act authorizes each State of the Republic to attach further regulations to these basic standards. |
