Message | This has been debated here before and our position remains: what happens to other countries is not any of our business if it does not directly concern us. Lack of foreign meddling is a policy that has kept us at a state of peace for the last 60 years. We would consider changing the policies if there was evidence of a grave foreign threat to the state. |

Message | We would also like to point out that such evidence would likely be discoverable by our current intelligence operations. |

Message | That's a valid point. We wouldn't like it if other countries did that to us I suppose and it could aggravate war. On the other hand if this was a nation that harboured say terrorists or other direct threats to the nation, then that may be a wise idea to undertake all kinds of covert operations in other countries. Hmm, this is a rather tough one. I suppose just because we're PERMITTED to undertake these operations doesn't mean that we have to. For now we're going to stick to the yes vote, but we may later change our minds and vote no. More convincing from either side would probably help. |
