Bill: Budget proposal of January 3824
Details
Submitted by[?]: Free Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 3824
Description[?]:
"In this budget, I make very slight trims, and I also sacrifice my salary and leave the environment COMPLETELY up to local governments. All ecology laws are either eliminated or left to local governments. National parks are not handled in this bill, but we consider that as a job for the minister of culture and education. This bill will make sure that areas that don't need environmental regulations (farming towns, etc) won't get money wasted on them. Also, we are allowing local governments to regulate pollution if need be, and article 4 won't destroy our environment." ~Ted Johnson, head Chairman of the LPS and Prime Minister |

Message | "Effectively, the ending of the Prime Minister's Office as staffers are fired and there is no budget even for the keeping of an office. WHEN will this Prime Minister learn that it is not HIS money to give away. It is not HIS office. It belongs to the people. HE might be rich and corrupt enough to keep himself in his job without sustenance but many working class Solentians are being priced out of politics and governance by his corporate-funded lunacy." Message | "and by the way, our party is not corporate funded. Corporations hate us. We proposed the increased corporate tax, the end of corporate welfare, and privatization of the government banks that give corporations so many advantages. The only party that attacks corporations more than we do is the SDP." ~Amy Smith, Secondary Chairman of the LPS |

Message | This is a terrible proposal. First off, we need environmental protection. Second, as they said your staff would no longer be paid if this was passed. Third, killing animals needs to be regulated. Let's say there is over-hunting and we start losing entire species in our nation. This would disrupt entire ecosystems as well as our nation's wellbeing. When it comes to forest protection, this is an area that the national government does have to maintain. Otherwise we could see a widespread loss of forests. We need to safeguard our natural resources. |

Message | "Exactly- because you can AFFORD to do that. What about the next President? What about the next 10 Presidents? Who will pay their staff? What if they aren't rich or have corporate funds to back them up? What if they can't work for free? You are pricing the poor out of politics and making thousands of people redundant in the process."
