Bill: Arms Freedom Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberty Dawn
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 3827
Description[?]:
Mr Speaker, The current policy on militias and weapon exports smacks of socialist paternalism. How about a small government-minded take on this issue? There are still no people in this house who have successfully been able to explain why paramilitaries should not be allowed to exist while people are allowed to own guns. To us it looks as though the establishment trusts itself more than ordinary people. The government should not treat neither the tools of war produced here nor the people owning them as if they were the establishment's playthings. Message | We do agree with the Unionists, Article 1 is fine. As far as paramilitaries, only the national military should exist. We do not need to have many different armed groups, this is asking for armed conflict within our nation. Only the official military of Solentia should be a legal and recognized armed group. We can have some militias but they should be regulated and in some way a part of our national military (even if just an irregular defensive force). |
