Message | "The Unionists would consider voting for some of these proposals however we do want to encourage scientific and technological development by legalising research into the technologies used in the creation of these weapons. These technologies can help develop not only our understanding of their offensive capacity but also of potential weaknesses and defences. It also allows us to utilise technology with the capacity to harm and to develop it into having a capacity for good." Brock Ryaine, Unionist Leader |
Date | 23:19:08, April 17, 2015 CET | From | Federal Green Party (FGP) | To | Debating the Pacifist Proposal |
Message | As we have argued many times in the past, we are opposed to having any dangerous technologies in our nation due to the threat from these being used by rogue agents. If a terrorist gets ahold of biological weaponry by infiltrating a research team then they can unleash these materials throughout our population. We will never vote in favor of allowing such technology to be legally in our nation. Though we certainly see and understand your point of view. Which proposals could you accept? Just those proposals if we allowed research or some of the other ones as well? What about paramilitaries or land mines, for example? |

Message | And what about using nuclear weapons or biological weapons, would you vote in favor of our proposal banning the use of them? |

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
