Bill: Lowering the Retirement Age
Details
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 3833
Description[?]:
Currently the retirement age is 75, we were absolutely shocked when we heard of this. 75 is far, far too old to retire, people should NOT be forced to work to that ridiculous age. We propose a MUCH lower retirement age of 60, because this is fair to the people and means they have more of their lives to enjoy without having to work, and there's more than enough younger workers out there so it's not like this will damage our economy. |

Message | We here at Arch think lowering it too 60 is too much. We would back it to be lowered to 64 or 65. So we are against it at the moment. |
Date | 17:43:06, April 18, 2015 CET | From | Choice | To | Debating the Lowering the Retirement Age |
Message | But people shouldn't have to work for that long, some people die in their 50s and thus will be working all their life, which in our opinion is unfair. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The Luthori Imperial Party believes that the retirement age is fine at the moment. In the 39th Century, health care helps people live to around 100 years. This makes the current retirment age good for the current demographics of the country. The LIP is a GF ainst this bill. I yield. |

Message | Luthori Imperial Party, if on average a person lives to 100 years, that gives people a pitiful and mere 25 years of retirement, which in our opinion is not long enough a reward for all those long years of work. |
Date | 20:47:12, April 18, 2015 CET | From | Luthori Imperial Party | To | Debating the Lowering the Retirement Age |
Message | Mr. Speaker, The LIP believe that this 25 year retirement is acceptable for the workforce. We believe that money, not time, is the key factor to enjoy life after retirement, as well as to pay for the inevitable medical bills that pile up in their last years of life. To remove time from their earning potential would hurt their savings in the long run. I yield. |
Date | 00:55:54, April 19, 2015 CET | From | Choice | To | Debating the Lowering the Retirement Age |
Message | Not everyone believes money is the way to happiness, not everyone is materialistic. All some people want is to be at home with their loved ones, everyone is different, you shouldn't generalise like that. And it's not very good to have people work their entire lives, then as soon as they retire get sick and feel ill for the rest of their lives. And MEDICAL BILLS?!?!? If we had a national health service then that would not be a problem. It's something the taxpayer would be willing to pay taxes for. |
Date | 00:58:42, April 19, 2015 CET | From | Forward | To | Debating the Lowering the Retirement Age |
Message | Mr. Speaker, Luthori Imperial Party, most of our people aren't living to 100, we have a small amount making it to the age of 100 in fact. Did you actually look at the demographics for each region? After much debate we have decide to side with choice and change our vote! I yield. |
