Bill: Racial and Religious Complexity Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Free Democrats
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 3835
Description[?]:
People are complicated and don’t fit into little boxes. Someone who might identify as mixed race in one place might identify as, say, black if they move to a place that is homogeneously Caucasian. Some people mix and match bits of different religions. Some people identify as races and religions too rare in our nation for the government to list them all. Our government's policy of forcing people to pick exactly one arbitrary box is completely out of date in modern times. It is also completely pointless. In a truly secular and colour blind society the race or religion someone identifies as should make no difference. This bill finally makes that the case. |

Proposal[?] to change Racial and religious registration of nationals.
Old value:: All nationals are required to register their race and religion.

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
