Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

SEEING as firearms are now legal in the Republic, it would be irresponsible of us not to afford police officers the same right. Semi-automatic and automatic weapons are not allowed, except for specially-trained SWAT units. |

Message | No, purely because we have every intention of removing firearms from public use. We will not have an arms race between the public and the police. |

Message | I say we should call martial law until firearms are illegal to the public, that way we can bypass the problem of arming the police as the military are already armed |

Message | I'll support, but the small number of private gun owners that exist in Hobrazia are not the major source of crime. The plan to eliminate all firearms from society is not a reasonable goal, and it is also a dangerous increase in the governments power. |

Message | Small number of gun owners? We have no records of any numbers of gun owners. For all we know every citizne of this Country owns multiple guns, we have no evidence against. "The plan to eliminate all firearms from society is not a reasonable goal, and it is also a dangerous increase in the governments power." - It is a very reasonable goal. The removal of firearms reduces the risk to public safety. The current laws on firearms ownership, as well as this law to increase police firearm usage, merely enforces the risks to the public as they are forced to arm themselves against "the other guy" who could be holding a gun, somthing that until recently was unlikely. We have taken, and are taking ever more, steps toward gun competition within this Country as everyone tries to get bigger and bigger guns. If the guy down the street has a gun, you obviously need a gun to protect yourself from them. If the police feel the need to carry guns at all times, there must be a great threat, so you must carry a gun for protection. We used to have a country where people could trust each other, we now have a Country where suspicion of others will continue to grow and we become ever more insular. Why be afraid of other Countries harming us, we're doing a pretty good job ourselves. |

Random fact: The influence a bill has on elections decreases over time, until it eventually is no longer relevant. This can explain shifts in your party's position to the electorate and your visibility. |
