MessageThe TRP reject proposals 1, 2 and 4.

We fear that the erosion of parliamentary privilege is a step towards the NRP's attempt to gag the growing opposition to their regime. They have already shown that they are willing to use any tactics, however reprehensible, in international conflict; it is only a matter of time before they turn their focus to preventing the domestic resistance to their policies.

The abortion laws in this country were, up until today, one of the admirable sets of policies under the NRP government. Today they are seeking to limit a woman's right to choose what to do with her body. This is unacceptable and does not accord with the scientific evidence in the area.

Ignoring scientific evidence appears to be something of a trademark of the NRP. The evidence clearly shows that cannabis is significantly less dangerous than alcohol and tobacco. The prohibition of recreational drugs is an affront to the civil liberties of Telamonians and the NRP are pursuing a nonsensical set of policies in this area.

On the issue of gated communities, while the TRP find it regrettable that some members of our society would choose to lock themselves away from the thriving communities of working Telamonians, we do respect their right to do so. As such, we would have supported Proposal 3. However, given our objections above we must vote against the bill as a whole, and express our regret that four policies in completely different policy areas were lumped together in one set of reforms simply because the NRP know that they can vote them through in the face of any opposition.

MessageAs we control every seat in Parliament right now, Article 3 could only hurt us.
We do not recognize that abortion is an issue simply about a woman and her body. We believe that there is another body involved in this issue - the child - and that his/her life to come deserves some level of protection from the only institution that can speak for it - our government.
Recreational drugs are not just cannabis, but also cocaine, LSD, heroin, meth, etc. Does the Reform Party believe that these are harmless enough to be sold freely? Does science say that they're safe for our children to consume?

MessageAs the NRP well knows, none of those other drugs are legal in Telamon. The policy they propose has the effect of outlawing cannabis and only cannabis. However, the Reform Party would support a proper review of drugs policy which considers what other drugs, such as ecstasy, may be suitable for legalisation.

MessageWe suggest that the Reform party read the law code again. This "policy" section covers all recreational drug use - not just cannabis. The very fact that you are open to the legalization of ecstasy - a date-rape drug - shows clearly how poorly suited your party is to moral leadership.

MessageHow rich that the party which has in the past voted against positive discrimination and gun laws to be taking the moral high ground!

MessageWe do have a difference in worldview, in moral codes. We view the right to self-defense and the right to be considered on one's own merits to be moral. I suppose that you do not. You would prefer a state of quotas and identity politics, of division and stoking resentment. A state where the rights of citizens are ignored in the pursuit of a Utopian, politically-correct country. We believe in the Telamonian people, in the free market, and in the rule of law's unalienable rights.

MessageSelf-defense would be much less of a worry if there was not a weapon with the capability of murder being given out to everyone who is not as of yet mentally-ill. Because after all we all know the DSM IV is flawless. You say you believe in the Telamonian people yet you will not trust them to make their own choice when it comes to recreational drugs and in fact you believe in them so much that you want to allow some of them to be gated off! It is almost as though you believe the privelaged have the right to be above those without privelage! I think it is clear how much faith you have in the Talamonian people. And as expected you have brought the free market into a debate gravitating around an entirely different issue.

MessageWe are aware that the policy area is recreational drug use, but the change the NRP are proposing is a change from having cannabis legalised to making it illegal. That is the position which they ought to be defending and they ought to be doing so without hiding behind references to heroin. The fact that they classify ecstasy as a 'date-rape drug', despite the fact that it is very rarely used as such, is another disappointing display of their failure to listen to the evidence on drug policy.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols.
