Bill: Set standards for advertising
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Democrats
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 3844
Description[?]:
Only advertising that meets certain set standards is permitted. We believe that while there should be freedom to advertise as companies wish they must obey certain regulations to stop the spreading of fallacies and manipulation. We feel that the influence of advertising can lead to a misled population. We hope for your cooperation on this bill. |

Message | That's certainly true, but where do we draw the line? I'm worried about a dangerous precedent being set here, but I'm open to perhaps supporting this bill. |

Message | Well given that these are 'set standards' it would be the government's responsibility to set them. Given that the NRP are currently in government and that no other party in Telamon has suggested setting restrictive standards on advertising I think we can be safe in the knowledge that the restrictions will be limited to preventing misleading advertising. |
