Bill: Election System Reform Act of 3846
Details
Submitted by[?]: Solentian National Party (SNP)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 3847
Description[?]:
The people of Solentia deserve proportional representation. Larger regions should not be enabled to, for no other reason than being larger, effectively bully smaller region. So long as larger regions are allowed to have greater representation than the smaller ones they will be able to "push them around" so to speak in this body. We cannot, in good conscience, allow this to continue. We implore this body to give smaller regions proportional representation in the Senate. Allow their voices to be heard. Thank you Mr. Speaker. |

Message | "What domination? What bullying? What higher representation do the larger States get? It seems to be that the Greens are attempting to scaremonger. Currently, there is a population difference of 127,942 between our largest and our smallest State which equates to a 0.13% difference. It is so minute that it does not affect the proportion of seats allocated to any of our States, each one receiving an equal 85 seats. The amount of times that this law has actually affected the seat share is not only minuscule but the last time seems to be around the 2500s. In short; we are not convinced this is an issue at all."
