Bill: Decreasing the Legislative Term
Details
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3847
Description[?]:
Currently, the legislative term is 60 months or 5 years, however we believe this is too long and it should be reduced to 48 months or 4 years. 5 years is too long a gap between elections and typically governments do very little within their last year. We believe our elections should be held every four years as opposed to five. (OOC: Another reason for this is that the game is less fun when elections are rare, it gets a bit stale waiting for this long, while every 48 months is far more reasonable.) |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
