MessageMr. Speaker,

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a very powerful ministry. It is central to the identity of the government. I do not think that a new party should control it, especially one which performed so poorly in the last election.

This bill will fail.

MessageMr. Speaker,

If the GNRG would like to propose an alternate cabinet proposal, then we encourage them to do so.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I am content with the current cabinet, but I may propose another one at some point. We do not need a new cabinet. The current cabinet still has a confidence supply of over 90% of the Presidium. It is not a part of Lodamese political convention to propose a new cabinet after every legislative election.

MessageMr. Speaker.

We are unsure of the shadow alliance or its policies. We are currently happy with our coalition partnerships.

MessageMr Speaker,

I completely disagree with Mr Fertig's sentiment. There has been big swings in the Presidum.

The Movement for Percyism lost almost a third of their seats.
The People of Freedom lost almost half of their seats.
There are two new party's in the Presidum.

And of course the GNRG had a massive surge by over doubling their seats.

A discussion needs to be had on the governing arrangements considering these massive changes. Whether new parties are introduced to the cabinet, or there is simply a reshuffle between the current governing parties. We owe the people of Lodamun to have this discussion.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The Movement for Percyism is still the largest party in the Presidium.
Even when combined, the 2 new parties have less than 10% of the seats in the Presidium.

Yes, the GNRG has more than doubled it seats. However, the GNRG sees itself as a part of a coalition. The coalition still has 541 seats.

MessageMr Speaker,

If that is how Mr Fertig wishes to see it, fair enough.

I just would of Mr Fertig would wish to use his extra power in the Presidum to negotiate a better position for his party and supporters.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We control Finance and Trade & Industry. Those are some of the central portfolios to the identity of the government. We are already discussing a reshuffle with our coalition partners, but we are content with the way things are now. We have been an active party for over 300 consecutive years. Our supporters know how we approach these matters; they trust us to represent them properly.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We believe this proposal is very fair and takes into account the amount of seats won be each party. In relation to Mr. Fertig's previous point, the current minister of foreign affairs has done next to nothing in that position. We need an energetic and enthusiastic minister who takes the responsibilities of the office seriously. We are more than ready to hold the position.

Regardless of whatever Alex Gleed believes, this proposal will fail. It is time for the ECA to accept that, and move on.

MessageMr. Speaker,

in response to Mr. Gleed's accusation that I have done nothing, or at least not much, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, I can only reply that my cabinet and I have done a great deal of work to stay focused on what was going on in the rest of Terra. Maybe it looks as if we didn't do anything, but most of our work happened behind the scene, away from all media coverage.
In my opinion, as well as my party's, we should not intervene to much and not mingle in international politics as other countries have done in the past with us.
What would Mr. Gleed have done in the case Saridan, where official apologies were demanded?

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself.
