MessageMr. Speaker,

This is a poor example of legislative reform.

How can we dictate to parents what is best for their children?

When all political ideology, theory and think tank rubbish is moved out of the way, we are left with the basic human nature that we are all born with. It is this innate, mysterious facet of humanity that should guide the will of parents. The thought of parents being ordered to have their children injected against their will would be a terrible betrayal of personal liberty.

I am therefore even more shocked to see this bill moved by the so-called centrist party and I demand an explanation and reasoning for this mad bill.

MessageMr. Speaker,

the LFP clearly doesn't understand the necessity of this act. We're putting children's lives at risk, as they are being endangered by diseases like the smallpox, a disease that could easily be eradicated with a simple vaccination.

Its clear that the Liberal Future Party does Not think of the future, as they could risk a full scale epidemic with their anarchist opinions. Its the government's responsibility to care for its citizen's and this is our way of doing so.

Mr/Ms. Robinson, the PCPD is a party interested in the safety of the people, and not their ' Basic Human Nature '.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Sensationalism is the worst form of politics. This bill attacks the minority of individuals who would withdraw their children from vaccinations - therefore the claim that in doing so it would risk a full scale epidemic is illogical. If such a small proportion opt out then they take the risk for themselves and obviously the vast majority who will be vaccinated will be unaffected.

Don't try to get cheap votes by promoting fear. We reject fear as tactic of the past and instead look to a hopeful future - yes even a future where we could be so radical as to allow individuals and not the state to determine what is injected into their own bodies, I realise that this level of personal liberty is obviously too much for the PCPD but the LFP will fight for these rights.

MessageMr. Speaker,

the LFP has no numbers to support their claims that there will be no epidemic, so he has no right to act like there's no risk at all. Neither do they have numbers on the amount of parents who vaccinate their children. We generally think that a lot of people do not vaccinate their children because of Dorvik's religious background. Besides, he's using sensationalism too by acting like we're taking away every last bit of freedom a person has, while we're talking about a harmless injection that takes away 5 minutes of your life. The LFP rather sees a society of children full of pox than healthy children enjoying their life. Why don't you just call yourself the Liberal Dystopia Party?

MessageMr. Speaker,

"We're talking about a harmless injection that takes away 5 minutes of your life..."

I agree, for myself, however you must concede that not all citizens will share your opinion and will therefore not see everything as glibly as you do sir. You must understand that what you are doing is stripping away someones right to opt out because of deep held beliefs. It might shock many members of this chamber to know that many people in our nation look to a higher power than this Bundestag for guidance on their life. Unless you are wanting to open a nationwide debate (no doubt leading to serious division) on the role of religion in society, then I suggest that the honorable member simply accepts that he was wrong to introduce the bill and has made a clear misjudgment - especially considering that he claims to represent a centrist party.

As a final point, I must clear up for the honorable member his blatant confusion over my gender, I am a woman - I would like that on the record...

MessageMr. Speaker,

I do not understand Ms. Robinson's claim that I'm not centrist. We're not called Centrist because of our moral views, but because of the fact that we support both the Left- or Right-wing economic beliefs.

Besides, I do not see this proposal as a mistake just because there's a certain group of MP's who think I'm wrong. There will always be a group of people who do not share your opinion, which is the whole base of politics. I ask the other parties to think the way I do about this subject, instead of the short-sighted views of the LFP, who'd rather see the world burn.

I would also like to attend Ms. Robinson that her party is more of a Libertarian party, instead of a Liberal one, as she believes in a world without government interference.

A. Urquhart, PCPD Leader.
