Bill: Tax Religious Institutions

Details

Submitted by[?]: Free Democrat Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3868

Description[?]:

These Religions/Religious Institutions have huge incomes, that go untaxed. We find that the government could save the Aldegarian People a great deal of cuts, by taxing some of the most powerful institutions in the land.

MessageWe can't accept that. Unless, it excludes our one True Faith.

MessageWe think that although this bill is a step in the right direction, we would prefer if it also included charitable donations, a major source of income for these institutions.

As for excluding the "True Faith" that is just preposterous...

MessageSee that they behave just like a company but deny it? What a shame. I'm taking this to a vote all the same.

MessageAfter much thought, I have decided to disapprove your proposal, as it is offensive against the One True Faith of Aldegar, the Yazdean faith. I will have the Mobedan Mobed (OOC:Priest of Priests of the Yazdean Faith) pray for your souls, as you appear to have been taken away from the Light

Random fact: Real-life organisations should not be referenced in Particracy, unless they are simple and generic (eg. "National Organisation for Women" is allowed).

Random quote: "While we may not always agree it is my hope that we may always be civil." - Jonathan Clarke, former Hutorian politician
