Bill: An End to Exploitation
Details
Submitted by[?]: Alorian Communist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2055
Description[?]:
The Capitalist society we live in has led us to believing the human body can be bought. Prostitution is an offence to human dignity and rights. The only people that resort to it are desperatly poor, often drug addicts forced into it by their dealer. These poor people should not be degraded in such a foul and abusive way. The human body is not worth the almighty dollar. Let us protect these people by, if not a total ban, not recognising it to at least discourage it. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The right for a person to prostitute himself or herself.
Old value:: Prostitution is legal but not recognized under government employment regulation policy.
Current: Prostitution is legal and a recognized profession.
Proposed: Prostitution is illegal.

Message | If enough people are willing to continue this vile cycle of exploitation, I will be willing to compromise to making it legal but not recognised. However, I cant sit by whilst countless people are forced to degrade themselves just to make ends meet. |
Date | 01:06:42, May 19, 2005 CET | From | Aloria Green Socialist Party | To | Debating the An End to Exploitation |
Message | People will do it whether it is legal or not. Government can offer more protection if it remains legal... |

Message | If the government arrests those that exploit these women THAT is protection. Merely collecting tax from them and turning a blind eye is NOT protection in the slightest! |
Date | 17:21:43, May 19, 2005 CET | From | Fair Capitalism Party | To | Debating the An End to Exploitation |
Message | The people wish for more civil rights! Let us not remove this right, which allows protitutes to be protected. Making it illegal forces them underground, making them nervous to report abuse. Legalisation means they are not (or at least less) afraid to report abuse. |

Message | Making it illegal means less people will do it! It also offers the protection of having the pimps locked up and the prostitution cycles broken. |
Date | 15:06:31, May 20, 2005 CET | From | To | Debating the An End to Exploitation |
Message | the pimps are only in place when prostitution is illeagal since we recognise it as a proffesion pimps are not needed because people can be self employed and work from home. |
Date | 00:03:54, May 21, 2005 CET | From | capital-communism party | To | Debating the An End to Exploitation |
Message | People need money, indeed this is one method they choose. If we could introduce simple instant-join jobs there would be no problem. As we cant, we must keep it legal. Also, keeping it legal can help people to report abuse and so on. |
