Details

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 3868
Description[?]:
M. Speaker, The proposals outlined in this bill will ensure the Great Democratic Republic of Lodamun's transition to a totally secular state. It is important to mention for those that practice Lodamese Nationalism that this bill will NOT affect that, as it shall be treated as a form of patriotism, not a 'religion'. Message | Mr. Speaker, This bill does effectively ban Lodamese Nationalism. Obviously the ECA doesn't understand Lodamese Nationalism. Lodamese Nationalism is about state-directed patriotism. If the state is not involved in Lodamese Nationalism, then it is not Lodamese Nationalism. There has never been an anarchist sect of Lodamese Nationalism, and the core bills - that were passed on Lodamese Nationalism - mention the role of the state. If it is not directed by the state, it is not Lodamese Nationalism. While we praise some of the articles in this bill for stifling other religions, some target Lodamese Nationalism specifically, and we would push for them to go in the other direction. The funny thing about this bill is that it will not only anger Lodamese Nationalists, but it will draw heavy backlash from Hosians, Yeudis, and Ahmadis as well. Instead of striving for differential inclusion like the Percyists would, the ECA is pushing for total unconditional exclusion of everyone. This is not a good idea. If we are going to ban typical religions, we must give the people an alternative; we must give them Lodamese Nationalism. -- Trevor Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG, Vice President of GDR Lodamun |
