Message | Mr Speaker, Once again we see another attempt to centralize this country in the hands of out of touch Belgae bureaucrats! Local and state level authorities are best positioned to address the education needs of their people! As my colleague, Health Minister Brown stated, the best way to handle these issues is to let communities decide them, not have Belgae dictate them! Not to mention the increased expense and burden this will put on the Federal Budget! Why are we spending money on supplying tuition for college for everyone, when we should be using our limited resources to help those in need! It seems quite ironic that the party of the left is more concerned with helping the rich get an upper hand at the expense of the public good while the sensible centre-right party of business is trying to help those who need it! Message | Mr Speaker, The idea that a "Promotion of Student and Citizen Based Education" means removing subsidies for private schools is absurd. That will only hurt those in most need, who will have nothing but the public education system to chose from. If anything, we should give more subsidies to private educational establishment, to ensure that more disadvantaged students can chose to be educated in the way that suits them best, not less. The Liberal Democratic Front supports increased subsidies for higher education, but not fully subsidizing it as that leads to wasteful spending. We would rather seek to introduce means-tested loans for everyone that must be paid back when that hard studying has paid off. Amanda Medusa |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The concerns of our honorable colleagues are understandable, private schools do increase educational diversity and spending indeed should be reasonably restrained. Though, would not allowing individual schools, both public and private, to pursue an education tailored to their individual students, rather than a test, match that diversity without the need to fund institutions with the intent of extracting wealth from Zardic students and families. Would not also the economic impact of possessing an entirely educated populace outweigh the cost of providing such an education. It is our belief that such an enabling of public institutions and the wider populace would be beneficial in the extreme.
