Details
Submitted by[?]: Grand Nationalist Fraction
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3876
Description[?]:
According http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=441045, we suggest to cancel http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=414635. Under the current circumstances, we would like the President, who is being directly elected by the people, to choose his own vice-President. That person can be someone of the same or another party. The person needs to be a Lodamese citizen. |

Message | Mr Speaker, The Shadow Alliance is very much in favour of this proposal. (OCC: The idea of a President choosing a Vice-President from a different party is very interesting idea) My only suggestion is to make a requirement for all Presidential Candidates to declare their Vice-President before the election. In the interests of transparency. (OCC: And a new interesting layer for the game.) Nick Bird Prime Minister of Lodamun |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I like the input of the President. Problem is: at what stage should the name be given? With this new legislation, the Prime Minister controls the Presidium and the President has little control over politics. It might be possible that the President's choice is equally chosen Prime Minister. What if that person choses to be Head of the Executive? John Uyttebroeck LNC spokesman OOC: I get the point, but in the past it was mostly the chairman that claimed vice-Presidancy. |

Message | Mr Speaker, The way I would set it up, is that when a Presidential Candidate announces their candidacy they would simultaneously announce their vice-president. If their vice-president is unable to take their position, either via becoming Prime Minister or through sickness, at that point the President would be able to announce a replacement. This system may be too complex to work with, and I can perfectly understand if other members do not like it. I will support this proposal even if the Vice-President is chosen after the election for simplicities sake. Nick Bird Prime Minister of Lodamun Interim President of Lodamun |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I can live with the idea that a candidate for Presidency campaigns with a candidate vice-President. On the other hand, we never were keen on the idea of having seperate Presidential elections. We liked the way it was before. Maybe the other parties can give their opinion. Then we might adapt the proposal. John Uyttebroeck LNC spokesman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Since the plurality party after the polls chooses both the President and Prime Minister, would a Vice President even be necessary? And what express powers aside from substitution in case of emergency would the Vice President hold? OOC: I'm not too sure about this idea personally, but if other parties are in support, we'll go with it as well. And I like the SA's idea of the VP coming from another party (from the coalition, most likely). That should keep things in a bit more balance. C. T. Edwards Chairwoman of the PLF |

Message | M. Speaker, The ECA agrees wholeheartedly with the Shadow Alliance. Each presidential nominee should be able to choose their running mate. Either from their party or another. In terms of the timeframe, we think announcing 6 months before the election is fair. David Butterman Deputy Prime Minister OOC: I think the running mate announcement should made by each candidate on the Lodamun news forum. |

Message | M Speaker, The URP considers the position of Vice President to be unnecessary considering the Presidency is a largely symbolic position. Noctos Moctos URP Leader |

Message | M.Speaker, So.How does the replacement works? We are having some confusions on that part.If you can explain how the replacement works? Then i think i can point out my doubts. Tony Leader of UDHFU OOC:Sorry,if i' am doubting to make the system more complex. |
